Choosing the historical window for a funnel rebuild

When we rebuild a hiring funnel view, teams often ask for “all history.” Long windows hide recent process changes. Too short a window makes seasonal hiring look like failure.

For most Hong Kong multi-role programmes, ninety days of completed applications is a workable first window: long enough to see interview-to-offer patterns, short enough that stage definitions still match how the team works today.

Extend the window when:

  • You hire in distinct seasons (campus, year-end surge)
  • You need to compare two agency contracts across a full year

Shorten it when a new ATS went live or when stage names changed mid-quarter. Always state the window on the dashboard itself so a later reader does not compare incompatible periods.
